About Mrs. Yano

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Julia Yano and I teach 3rd grade.  I'm new at Glenwood this year.  I really enjoy working here! I came from Meadows Elementary where I taught the Learning Center as a Resource Specialist.  I have also taught in Santa Ana, Capistrano, Northern California and at Simi Valley before I came to Conejo Valley.  I have two sons and a daughter-in-law and one husband.  My hobbies are outdoor activities, handicrafts such as knitting and rubber stamping, music, singing and traveling.

Homework and Assignments

There is homework daily in spelling, reading or language and math except on Fridays.

A spelling contract is given that will be used on long term basis that your student needs to keep in his/her binder or homework folder.  Spelling dictation sentences are also given for each list that students are expected to know for their Friday test.

A monthly reading log is passed out at the beginning of the month that student's should keep for reading 30 minutes daily.

Math assignments are given to students daily by the respective teachers depending on who they see for math.

Other assignments are given for Social Studies.
