Mrs. Brown
Welcome to the 4th Grade! My name is Mrs. Brown. Born a “Navy Brat” I’ve lived in several states as well as two European countries. In 1990 I graduated High School from Stephen Decatur American High School in Sicily (Italy). From there I moved to Thousand Oaks to attend California Lutheran University where I earned my BA and my CLAD Teaching Credential. I have been a teacher here at Glenwood Elementary School since 1996.
In my free time I enjoy volunteering at my church and at local community theaters. I have done everything from running snack counters, spot lights, and sound boards, to costuming small performances. While at home I like to spend time with my husband, Steve, and our two cats, Trouble and Mooch.
I believe that every child has the capacity for greatness. Some will have great minds and ideas becoming respected leaders and scholars. Others will have great hearts and compassion becoming physicians and humanitarians. My goal as an educator is to encourage academic growth, as well as push beyond that to the unlimited potential each child has within. This year your child will be learning many new things, while reinforcing and enhancing knowledge from past years. They will be discovering who they are now, as well as who they are striving to become. The foundation for their future is being laid as we speak. I invite my student’s parents to become partners with me in their child’s education. Together we can make a positive impact and help each child grow.
